TMTA / metal

Think Monday - think metal!
I am a fan of heavy metal, of rusty nails, of odd metal pieces, plates and findings... but for this card I chose soft metals: golden paint, golden gel pen, Chinese silver money with a blue ink wash and a copper brad.
(I have to tell you all this, because you can't really see all of it. A lot of the gold got lost in the photo, and the inked Chinese silver just looks blue - located right underneath the stripey bar... Well, at least the brad is visible! )

Welcome autumn with its golden days
traded

Background was done with watercolor - liked the prompt in last week's Inspire me Thursday and experimented with them on several different surfaces over the weekend. This card is done on plummy 200gm aquarelle paper.

Technique Thursday had a prompt to use circles. I thought, why limit myself to circles in design, why not make something circle shaped. So I experimented with 3¨ rounds. I had something in mind, but filling circle-shaped forms was harder than I thought it would be. Here they are - any ideas what I could make with them?
(And do they maybe feel a tad sparse?)

  1. It is really a great pity ones that the metallic effects are to be seen not good with the Scans. But one can foresee how nice the ATC has become

  3. Very nice! You could stick the rounds on a future ATC or even a Gothic Arch, all depends what the theme is but they have great potential!

  4. Hi Alice,

I like your TMTA metal ATC, even if all the metals don't show up in the picture! I would trade Allegro for your metal one, unless you have something else in mind for it.

The rounds could be magnets, placed on a greeting card, made into tags, or like Jacqueline said, put on an ATC - lots of possibilities! They don't look too sparse to me.

  6. I love rusty things too and doesn't the rust color look great with blue?! Love the rounds - lots of possibilities like everyone mentioned, I've made some to go under glass paperweights.

  8. Gorgeous ATC, I love Autumn for its colour & texture, you have captured that well.
I also love your circles. I have a thing about circles but I also find them hard to use well.I think yours have come out very well.

  11. Love the rounds, I think they are fine as they are. Could you make them into a little book or put onto card to form a larger pic

  13. Hi Alice,

Sorry about playing "blog tag" with you! I couldn't find your email on your blog or profile. I don't want to put list mine here, but I did add it to my blog page on the top right, but you'll have to add the "@" and "." I also have a flickr, but I only have 2 ATCs there (grin)!

P.S. On the " blog roll" on TMTA, the link on your name (alice k) goes to "paperflowers1" blog, just thought you'd want to know.
