What's on My Desk / WOYWW #312

I have been lurking around WOYWW for a while and nosing into other creative people's work areas. What better time to reveal mine than this anniversary week which combines with an ATC swap.
I am most passionate about ATC's (artist trading cards).

I feel I am awfully messy and hate to show it, but I'm taking a plunge:
On the left hand side is a set of drawers on wheels:
It houses most everything. Pieces of paper and snippets and rub-on sheets and paints and ATC card blanks on top.
Drawers from top to bottom house various necessities, some stamps and inks in the top drawer:
Main actors (people and faces) in the next:
Added interest items (ephemera) below that:
Then come some more paints, ones that are not in bottles:
I have two drawers for backgrounds, one for tear-offs from magazines:
and one for mainly bought papers: (although there seems to be a sheet of self-made backgrounds on the right)
In the area to the right of my desk I keep photos, books and yet more stamps:

My work space is in the attic so it receives very little natural light. It can be quite gloomy at times, especially in summer when it is so bright outside.

  1. Ah, but amidst the gloom of the attic, are some wonderful things, including that storage unit on wheels. Looks like it's just what you need to keep things organized.

I'm so glad you chose this week to join us, because it truly IS a special one. And of course, we all have Julia to thank for getting us all together.

Happy, happy 6th WOYWW anniversary from #1.

    1. You are so right, I couldn't exist without that storage unit.
And what a better time to participate than the 6th anniversary. Here's to many more years of messy desks!

  4. Welcome welcome! I'm amazed that people nose about and lurk before taking the plunge, it's a real revelation to me! As for messy..hey, it's not hurting anyone, and some of us love it! It probably feels gloomy because f the brightness outside, but aren't all artists supposed to be away in an attic being eternally creative?!!
If you remain the last * on the list, I will be your recipient...after midnight, I'll confirm. Well, I won't...it will be tomorrow before I do that, on account of needing to go to bed!

    1. Lurking is more fun than to admit having a messy desk... But now that I am out of the closet it feels half bad - I will be showing my mess more regularly :-)

  6. Your workspace looks like lots of fun! I know what you mean about it getting a bit dark. Mine is in a small low ceiling bonus room with no windows. I finally bought one of those expensive daylight lamps and that seems to help :) <3 Shel @ PaperOcotilloStudio #31

    1. Diane, that unit was bought at Ikea. For some reason it is only sold on the floor, never through the catalogue. I bought mine 7 years ago, but it is still available. A great piece indeed!

Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. I'm a bit slow getting round this week!

My apologies also for not sending you my address yet - I'll do it when I get home from work tonight.
