Lintubongaus jatkuu / Bird Journal 4

Palokärki on neljäs lintu, sen latinalainen nimi alkaa d:llä. Wikistä kirjoitin juuri ylös palokärjen tuntomerkkejä; se on kokomusta, koiraalla on punainen päälaki. (Onkohan toisessa kuvassa sitten tikka, mustavalkoinen?

This page is for the Great Woodpecker, a large bird with a red head (female has only a spot of red at the back of it's head). It prefers mature forests with enough ants to feed on. It lives in the northern regions of Europe and Asia and does not migrate.

Background as coated again with gesso, and while it was still wet I slashed lines onto it (with a credit card) to get the texture of pine needles. Then I loosely placed my pictures onto the page, followed the lines of the trees those two birds were hacking on. I painted and drew the background to resemble the photos as closely as I could, then glued on the birds, made the tag and voila!

  1. Tuo mustavalkoinen punalakki on todellakin tikka. Palokärki on kokonaan musta paitsi päälakeaan.
    Hienon sivun olet taas tehnyt.
