What better opportunity to bring out some flower stamps and start making happy, sun-filled cards.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I had a couple of challenges in mind when I put this card together. In the end you'll see whether I did them justice.</span></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNXCYhYqqDPqq-Abww18pHVrOT-kVgXPCvqZ26pH4H4470-XOQU4KSn2uM8e0UiLAPW7D_fQBlViYEJI3qUPmHSbzFt8u9N5czc6dLD3UJpsf_EpOyZP_geJ-Kl-F4QFk14Bh07YcH_LkFRAZ61YZu9aRM62NVVphoSh6-9a7fbU2O3Jn-9yokalLMe84U/s1280/IMG_0454.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="537" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNXCYhYqqDPqq-Abww18pHVrOT-kVgXPCvqZ26pH4H4470-XOQU4KSn2uM8e0UiLAPW7D_fQBlViYEJI3qUPmHSbzFt8u9N5czc6dLD3UJpsf_EpOyZP_geJ-Kl-F4QFk14Bh07YcH_LkFRAZ61YZu9aRM62NVVphoSh6-9a7fbU2O3Jn-9yokalLMe84U/w403-h537/IMG_0454.jpeg" width="403" /></a><span style="font-size: medium;"> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The background is stamped with a (retired) hero Arts background stamp, Branches Bold Prints. Then I embossed it with clear embossing powder. I wanted to ink it diagonal, so I selected two Distress sprays, Twisted Citron for grass and a turquoise (forgot it's name) for the other half.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The flower was stamped, then fussy cut out and painted with pearlescent watercolors. I adhered that onto a round die cut piece of vellum, and finally adhered some turquoise die cut branches behind it. Lastly I put on yellow shiny gems. The sentiment says: Many happy returns. </span></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMgjy8GMVp_feVOUBKD4HXyE7ITd5FJFJcpfq_a1h0skeSdxeE1-5s1fNCgVS2eB3EaS69-bsHwMMoq2vJQ4UFD1gQrRHNttbjW6BPStugOAL62Daz-rPn4Rb2GdCc8ZpSROtMkiCuKKm4Iei4eg_p_4JIpf4e7oYrujluTNvrMzc5XWhyLcBo2nY0BI6m/s1280/IMG_0455.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="539" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMgjy8GMVp_feVOUBKD4HXyE7ITd5FJFJcpfq_a1h0skeSdxeE1-5s1fNCgVS2eB3EaS69-bsHwMMoq2vJQ4UFD1gQrRHNttbjW6BPStugOAL62Daz-rPn4Rb2GdCc8ZpSROtMkiCuKKm4Iei4eg_p_4JIpf4e7oYrujluTNvrMzc5XWhyLcBo2nY0BI6m/w404-h539/IMG_0455.jpeg" width="404" /></a></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Entering it in these challenges:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=34763" target="_blank">Bright and cheerful</a><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Stay Crafty with a blog named Hero: <a href="https://heroarts.com/blogs/hero-arts-blog/stay-crafty-with-a-blog-named-hero-march-2024-challenge" target="_blank">Heat embossing</a><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Cut It Up: <a href="http://cutitupchallenges.blogspot.com/2024/03/cut-it-up-challenge-299-colors-of-spring.html" target="_blank">#299 Colors of Spring</a><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Just Add Ink: <a href="https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2024/03/just-add-ink-692sketch.html" target="_blank"> #692 Sketch</a> </span><img border="0" data-original-height="1112" data-original-width="1112" height="144" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixhOc70jSxJOTqKlCxq1ea6WC21FOWY6LvH4dwBGPWW6fF_vMsx-lAieO2DWbfEo3VzS9zvhlKGmj77ym-1jKHR2GxFdMRf9Dnx1pt4Ij4SeEBVDhhylDfydAuYJN3lLBJnH49yDTfnQCOqeQug8bcGq-aDme9qfIcGJp8DtVhA2aSQAq7xu6wnP5yVIA/w144-h144/%23692.jpg" width="144" /> <br /></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Dream Valley Challenges: </span><span style="font-size: medium;"> <a href="http://dreamvalleychallenges.blogspot.com/2024/03/challenge-311-add-some-sparkle-and-dt.html" target="_blank">#311 Add sparkle</a><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-75346838083490960062024-03-03T13:59:00.004+02:002024-03-03T13:59:54.890+02:00Thinking of spring<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> I don't know about you, but for me Spring can't come fast enough. It has been an especially dark and snowy winter here in the far North. Now that the snow has started melting it freezes in the night and we have to mind our steps walking on mirrored icy surfaces.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">So no wonder I turned towards brighter colors and happier thoughts.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2MsUW3PDoNlq7JtewNMzMXb9mFn2JedwMTTYVwqeDpkoX4Q3fEVfo9_-oRHo_MBgw6RJUaAZGu3h9azBbKCFO8m7m5nxzyIgfiuNlGU7pxGAxnLWPxTaH-plhN4cfKW7GHS7yo534ojRTh1ZNthBknPUqGGmtUuB_215heTLxidtstFKGAs-0qzCJxclS/s1280/IMG_0394.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="573" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2MsUW3PDoNlq7JtewNMzMXb9mFn2JedwMTTYVwqeDpkoX4Q3fEVfo9_-oRHo_MBgw6RJUaAZGu3h9azBbKCFO8m7m5nxzyIgfiuNlGU7pxGAxnLWPxTaH-plhN4cfKW7GHS7yo534ojRTh1ZNthBknPUqGGmtUuB_215heTLxidtstFKGAs-0qzCJxclS/w430-h573/IMG_0394.jpeg" width="430" /></a></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The background was done with a stencil (which I used for the first time, thus making this a NBUS, "never before used schtuff"). I followed a couple of challenges for inspiration, I think it is more fun that way.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU2wTd5EOjr_v8Wn0Xw2H7dWSdUtTds3esn63ZG6-yNMiwlhLfJb1xJJstiDPl7blY0mFwlM0CJ9rEN63NAxxBTCDLhAfQ2RKoIgfv0yfuVVolIZiaIX6Ecq2xz9lLkIVI6Y2IegUg-hn_csDp8vhnIOTTQKibz4C_16058ZZpJ0bu9ErbV26c0437eo60/s1280/IMG_0342.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="916" height="564" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU2wTd5EOjr_v8Wn0Xw2H7dWSdUtTds3esn63ZG6-yNMiwlhLfJb1xJJstiDPl7blY0mFwlM0CJ9rEN63NAxxBTCDLhAfQ2RKoIgfv0yfuVVolIZiaIX6Ecq2xz9lLkIVI6Y2IegUg-hn_csDp8vhnIOTTQKibz4C_16058ZZpJ0bu9ErbV26c0437eo60/w404-h564/IMG_0342.jpeg" width="404" /></a></span><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I started by stamping the dinosaur directly onto the card base. Then I masked it and added background through two stencils. I recently got a selection of candy heart dies - "you rock" seemed to hit the vibe nicely.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZb4jt7aayR5Sr5Wb1hbCbgT5YVJQcHvBzSQOJCRrZXqe4Ld3pFdSV_BmeIaZivoZMfwfEimjfQBgg59hz5ZG9D1TdlwaAmyMTLsU9nBz9Q3GXqX8QFyWsGOVuejDUdOllPUnq-Hq6ACQpd2AHgJ5JTlBmzjHUx5PsifldNMZinbd9l50pE68Gtp6sk9XZ/s1280/IMG_0343.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="1092" height="498" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZb4jt7aayR5Sr5Wb1hbCbgT5YVJQcHvBzSQOJCRrZXqe4Ld3pFdSV_BmeIaZivoZMfwfEimjfQBgg59hz5ZG9D1TdlwaAmyMTLsU9nBz9Q3GXqX8QFyWsGOVuejDUdOllPUnq-Hq6ACQpd2AHgJ5JTlBmzjHUx5PsifldNMZinbd9l50pE68Gtp6sk9XZ/w425-h498/IMG_0343.jpeg" width="425" /></a></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;"></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Entering this into the challenges that inspired me:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Cupcake Challenge: <a href="https://cupcakeinspirations.blogspot.com/2024/02/cupcake-inspiration-challenge-588.html" target="_blank">#588 Dinosaurs</a> <img border="0" data-original-height="384" data-original-width="384" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgqRJePOs8lx03X3zaWk0lDHLfE7NH-jblXw6M-Vnw3_VSNBREz5LKyWmTbn65f2tKiGZemBuaeo0UY9mahh2lw6BcEeEsQPXCeUxcFiUdjQnko_KtE21qA_qdZq6Pf3I1_SJ29jjTg_4zt79n2UU_PlsPhbxbL25TdTFahHiBdQrJnzi7WA8GPg4mWAPg/w150-h150/CIC%20588%20Dinosaurs%20February%2026.jpg" width="150" /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Stamping Sensations: <a href="https://www.stampingsensations.uk/2024/02/animals-birds-and-creatures.html" target="_blank">Animals, birds and creatures.</a><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The Male Room: <a href="https://themaleroomchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2024/02/challenge-183-valentineuse-heart.html" target="_blank">#183 Valentine / Use a heart</a><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Stencil Fun: <a href="https://stencilfun.blogspot.com/2024/02/february-stencil-fun-challenge.html" target="_blank">Love /Hearts</a><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The Paper Players: <a href="http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2024/02/pp678-sketch-challenge-from-anne-marie.html" target="_blank">PP678 Sketch</a> <img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="300" height="141" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUbzc23BkH5xo-9wZMo5G4F4KJafQ15fBN5BaQS3YrSbThYww-psZh_xAxnYkcHYPjtg4cK61Qg0XYzGVNBMg-UPfVN16L9vOGM3QvwCLdvcE0oJVblqwoQMz35Vjae3lQnz7o34YzehRttgAShRV6XGsQnb0Ef8hiiOCg1SRzQ_8fa_bD7dc0YrPkLPvJ/w106-h141/pp678.png" width="106" /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-23545635658597995362024-02-08T13:14:00.003+02:002024-02-08T13:14:56.089+02:00Tea for two<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> When I sit down to my desk I never know what I am going to make. Today I was playing with three prompts in my mind: romance - pink - heart.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Tea can be a very romantic moment, perhaps early on when you are just getting to know each other. A passing moment, no-committal but getting more intimate when tea is being served, discussion becoming more animated. Fine porcelain cups and a nicely thrown pot underline the ambience.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAqzvIk2dfqTQ09dtzJe3AFgEMfKJ1_h4IS5B5MxnEBQ7y_aHt3iVFP5fGNp67_ADXv1CUE0U9xvA8ywvRHIafzw8t97AdZv6MAy0-ysmW03OMGl7oJIei187g3VAhj3KJmkqoKwaSPI54UIWxNkxMB66XpvNVhUYIHJsd5RbhnltaGt78uSqP1SoRDdJ3/s1280/IMG_0275.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="536" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAqzvIk2dfqTQ09dtzJe3AFgEMfKJ1_h4IS5B5MxnEBQ7y_aHt3iVFP5fGNp67_ADXv1CUE0U9xvA8ywvRHIafzw8t97AdZv6MAy0-ysmW03OMGl7oJIei187g3VAhj3KJmkqoKwaSPI54UIWxNkxMB66XpvNVhUYIHJsd5RbhnltaGt78uSqP1SoRDdJ3/w402-h536/IMG_0275.jpeg" width="402" /></a></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">These thoughts formed my starting point. To get to the finished card I selected suitable gelli printed papers and used those for background and the tea service, stamped some ethereal dog rose for the background and hand lettered the sentiment ("tea for two").</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I am entering it into these challenges that inspired me today:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">We Love Stamping: <a href="https://www.welovestamping.co.uk/2024/02/february-challenge.html" target="_blank">Romance</a> (or AG)<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Colourful Options: <a href="https://colorfuloptions.blogspot.com/2024/02/february-2024.html" target="_blank">Pink</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Dragonfly Dreams Challenge: <a href="http://dragonflydreamschallenges.blogspot.com/2024/02/february-challenge-hearts.html" target="_blank">Hearts </a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The Flower Challenge: <a href="http://theflowerchallenge.blogspot.com/2024/02/the-flower-challenge-88-add-heart.html" target="_blank">#88 Add a heart </a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Addicted to Stamps and More:<a href="http://addictedtostamps-challenge.blogspot.com/2024/02/challenge-461-make-your-mark.html" target="_blank"> #461 Make your mark</a></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-86060361186214005262024-02-07T13:35:00.003+02:002024-02-08T13:19:14.961+02:00Hello - playing bingo<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> I needed a "hello" card for a friend. I find them to be the most difficult of all - what do you put on them? There is no one answer. Today I took my cue from a row of bingo in a papercraft challenge.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I used a lot of green hued scraps (mostly blotched gelli prints), arranged them into a starburst pattern and run it through a polka dot embossing folder. I love the effect dry embossing creates on patterned paper, it somehow draws the attention to itself and the background papers receive less attention.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI2BRaW453EjHJWlstuSh-9OtQn5ocu2JmIq_n8vf2XpFo8p7XElT743lekppqOJDvt8rtciOLgQgRKLTW_PoygOt70ToUdSR5famB6o5guH73Yy91X9i-No-HmsAb1fb6sTPTJyDqQlCYqFub_nwrc49ICBfQIHsKC3NzwO5YJj0SL_HR-woNBpXQUr6s/s1280/IMG_0271.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="565" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI2BRaW453EjHJWlstuSh-9OtQn5ocu2JmIq_n8vf2XpFo8p7XElT743lekppqOJDvt8rtciOLgQgRKLTW_PoygOt70ToUdSR5famB6o5guH73Yy91X9i-No-HmsAb1fb6sTPTJyDqQlCYqFub_nwrc49ICBfQIHsKC3NzwO5YJj0SL_HR-woNBpXQUr6s/w424-h565/IMG_0271.jpeg" width="424" /></a> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I attached a few die cut balloons with twine and added a sentiment. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhErbeUo3AMUoQhIh86B1lANHdIvVrjKCoSSHUY5v7zdJdJrE5jUP-8qUJDybpXv5wDhdYHk2KCCa4GGFZFgJThkC-a9e44llY4BMKM71Xo62RmgFNqutk2zD5ypUAVQxDFHirZlsPt6psPVkJwoTOZUC66sTqGdKsq7thwmrxoHJEsjleK2pJErqp1ty3Y/s1280/IMG_0270.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="568" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhErbeUo3AMUoQhIh86B1lANHdIvVrjKCoSSHUY5v7zdJdJrE5jUP-8qUJDybpXv5wDhdYHk2KCCa4GGFZFgJThkC-a9e44llY4BMKM71Xo62RmgFNqutk2zD5ypUAVQxDFHirZlsPt6psPVkJwoTOZUC66sTqGdKsq7thwmrxoHJEsjleK2pJErqp1ty3Y/w426-h568/IMG_0270.jpeg" width="426" /></a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Entering the card into these lovely challenges:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Allsorts Challenge: <a href="https://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/2024/02/week-766.html" target="_blank">Week 766</a> <img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="347" height="169" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhckqD5WL2Ei72V4s2L9RZ59jiUTFQBD2yLGlJCFRV8zPD_7DwlCsHoZNu5gDHymXVzkjF8DaRkWb9fcRjhwimkUgwpyUoLomHQ_TWc-hlF16Fi88LSWbFeBsw4NjcOyY7Bq4GCujHhyphenhyphendxeNu8oCUpJyHkPKQlJiC1DHIUNevRsiLmONBsErfG7goQJ7Ts/w147-h169/Bingo%203.jpg" width="147" /> My row is Dry embossing - green - twine<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Can You Handle the Pressure: <a href="https://cyhtp.blogspot.com/2024/01/anything-goes-embossing-with-twist-of.html" target="_blank">AG / twist of birthdays</a> - I am playing AG<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Let's Craft and Create: <a href="http://letscreatechallenges.blogspot.com/2024/02/challenge-204-ag-polka-dots-andor.html" target="_blank">#204 AG, Polkadots/ an or stripes</a> - I went with polka dots</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Unicorn Challenge: <a href="http://unicornchallenge.blogspot.com/2024/02/challenge-95-dots-andor-stripes.html" target="_blank">#95 Dots and/or stripes</a> - I went with dots<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Papercraft Challenges: <a href="https://papercraft-challenges.blogspot.com/2024/01/challenge-102-anything-goes.html" target="_blank">#102 AG</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Thank you for your visit!<br /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-67489076147674984062024-02-06T12:50:00.000+02:002024-02-06T12:50:36.224+02:00For you<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> A love letter - who wouldn't like that?</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">In my card a little bird is carrying a love letter to a happy recipient. I still have quite a few from my early days of paper crafting. They are beautiful - but as they are stored in a box it is difficult to remember what I own. I was overjoyed to find a challenge that will, hopefully, activate my usage.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Today I picked a large heart stamp as my focal point. The piggy is also a new stamp, I bought it solely for the reason that the way the arms are positioned I am able to place items into its hands - today it is the flower.<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK_k5zh-TMbsk7ZTZ0iHhqdaWLxea58JF9eIo0WstRdoJOqXcqSLIu8quSarLkSgesxgfdgf5PhYOvLfGCK_PQqBFDUFrMSML_7I9fzfELJTAN6jUHCfHb_5ts5M0pEiRn93P-F6HLmZ9A02wto6Ya0m4YYyha6DNElQRohaxLp1gFbpwpWXSWw-cNqI6h/s1280/IMG_9892.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="940" height="579" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK_k5zh-TMbsk7ZTZ0iHhqdaWLxea58JF9eIo0WstRdoJOqXcqSLIu8quSarLkSgesxgfdgf5PhYOvLfGCK_PQqBFDUFrMSML_7I9fzfELJTAN6jUHCfHb_5ts5M0pEiRn93P-F6HLmZ9A02wto6Ya0m4YYyha6DNElQRohaxLp1gFbpwpWXSWw-cNqI6h/w425-h579/IMG_9892.jpeg" width="425" /></a><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Entering this birthday card in these fun challenges:</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;">We Love Stamping: <a href="https://www.welovestamping.co.uk/2024/01/new-stamps-on-display.html" target="_blank">Something new</a></span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Stamps & Fun=Creativity: <a href="https://stampsfun-creativity.blogspot.com/2024/01/446.html" target="_blank">#446 AG</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Beautiful Blossoms Challenge: <a href="https://beautifulblossomschallenge.blogspot.com/2024/01/beautiful-blossoms-challenge-anything.html" target="_blank">#13 Anything floral or Moodboard option</a>: I am using the AG option </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Stencil Fun: <a href="https://stencilfun.blogspot.com/2024/01/january-2024-stencil-fun.html" target="_blank">AG / option birds </a>- I went with AG option</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Lost Coast Portal of Creativity: <a href="https://lostcoastportaltocreativity.blogspot.com/2024/01/challenge-181-anything-goes.html" target="_blank">#181 AG (with stamping)</a><br /><br /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-87039305695425810542024-01-29T08:56:00.001+02:002024-01-29T08:59:16.526+02:00New again<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Something old that's new again: I have been neglecting my mixed media work lately. What is actually new: the stencil. I treated myself to a Christmas calendar that had a stencil for each day. That makes 24 shiny new stencils to play with.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I started with a background that had random streaks of paint on it. I covered it with a stencil and some Simon Hurley Lunar paste (Slippery when wet, a lovely gold tone) to get some texture. When the paste had dried I sprayed the background with blue ink.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoC0bL-VvakowZsiSulfo8V4PHnYXH4sad4WbX0SUckDqo4_2Md6wRgSC8GsTM_M4gWQcEXa__5BlRqwhygIMS2EW7eWAAZC9a0_HHc251WSiLifERCdySzELms5b1QkgJqS3w4moR0_Pg_ynDW0w2-WMqamIiZOPjKduLXOrBzTq9SjpA-Cojxc_2andM/s1280/IMG_0205.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="537" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhoC0bL-VvakowZsiSulfo8V4PHnYXH4sad4WbX0SUckDqo4_2Md6wRgSC8GsTM_M4gWQcEXa__5BlRqwhygIMS2EW7eWAAZC9a0_HHc251WSiLifERCdySzELms5b1QkgJqS3w4moR0_Pg_ynDW0w2-WMqamIiZOPjKduLXOrBzTq9SjpA-Cojxc_2andM/w403-h537/IMG_0205.jpeg" width="403" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The card didn't need much else. I wrote a sentiment onto a die cut oval, and because it did look like it needed something I used 7 little half pearls in iridescent blue. I am definitely a pearl person, I love that subtle sheen whereas jewels feel too gaudy.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHHtB0ozIPN8mxCFbSbaRyUasEMASt1rq9CNl1w4gduUb0mlldTBwWZan9fRpQ6uTyoKrRerPFhcSWBGeR_kZsGBEfTytGBGg9iZqDO7C9Eh0G21kByGD_9MfWhiTUxmJrwbOJXc7L-4uRfPI6IM7CGGAjyVdbjGb6J2YJ89xvB3C_FQgIW6WziOcqrhf0/s1280/IMG_0204.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="917" height="537" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHHtB0ozIPN8mxCFbSbaRyUasEMASt1rq9CNl1w4gduUb0mlldTBwWZan9fRpQ6uTyoKrRerPFhcSWBGeR_kZsGBEfTytGBGg9iZqDO7C9Eh0G21kByGD_9MfWhiTUxmJrwbOJXc7L-4uRfPI6IM7CGGAjyVdbjGb6J2YJ89xvB3C_FQgIW6WziOcqrhf0/w384-h537/IMG_0204.jpeg" width="384" /></a></span><span style="font-size: medium;"> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Entering the card into these lovely challenges that inspired me today:</span></p><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">As You Like It: <a href="http://asyoulikeitchallenge.blogspot.com/2024/01/whats-your-favourite-pearls-or-gems-and.html" target="_blank">What's your favorite, pearls or gems</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Simon Says Wednesday Challenge:<a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-add-some-texture/" target="_blank"> Add some texture </a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Double D: <a href="https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/2024/01/sparkle-andor-shine.html" target="_blank">Sparkle and/or shine</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">NBUS: <a href="https://mynbus.blogspot.com/2024/01/nbus-challenge-58.html" target="_blank">#58 January schtuff</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Thank you for your visit! <br /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-84919467534907526542024-01-25T19:22:00.007+02:002024-02-03T08:57:03.591+02:00There's cake!<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> Cake is the theme of the first challenge I was inspired by. I stocked up on supplies and new stuff in the sales, so there are some happy stamps, stencils and dies to be played with.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I worked according to the sketch using a new leaf stencil and a very cute - also new - bird stamp. I colored everything in with watercolors and drew around the stenciled leaves, which makes them look like they were stamped. I raised the folklore-inspired bird from the background with foam pads. The sentiment says: Today is Your day.<br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiW7BC73mDlEap5gPkybIGzUVcUuVOObqMy1zpiN-bUoeBTPQlDZikoQgmZJChe_1WEyNkniaWCDnRN3TFNbLkbRa67UcOgDQt0N9X0uohZi6m3fSdM2L5FXVDBBHpvEv0F4Y986QYuEfmxMfySPjq_G2Lt0V53SbecUpZ2KeboMc2u0vmVdOX-V-FvOir/s1280/IMG_0077.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="987" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiW7BC73mDlEap5gPkybIGzUVcUuVOObqMy1zpiN-bUoeBTPQlDZikoQgmZJChe_1WEyNkniaWCDnRN3TFNbLkbRa67UcOgDQt0N9X0uohZi6m3fSdM2L5FXVDBBHpvEv0F4Y986QYuEfmxMfySPjq_G2Lt0V53SbecUpZ2KeboMc2u0vmVdOX-V-FvOir/w309-h400/IMG_0077.jpeg" width="309" /></a></span></div><span style="font-size: medium;"><br />Entering this in:</span><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Freshly Made Sketches: <a href="https://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2024/01/freshly-made-sketches-618-sketch-by.html" target="_blank">#618</a> <img border="0" data-original-height="2100" data-original-width="1500" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjjj87PHe1E5Pa26Ced2oTN8yVJFi-F7Lvg-f01Kr18cCh7zWOPSrbHPUzJPQWbNWMayS2heZoKOMLkO72OmXAiX8jDuKPzKL4do_Y0YWwlHZqKJ8K7RSuLC2xOjcjalW1MNPYC0sx2yYiJAhDRcYrFHAJLOMEu3_gHbsO_vBkJ0jjFduRX6RzBHlljvuS/w141-h197/FMS%20Final%20618-001.jpg" width="141" /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: <a href="https://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-cute-critters/" target="_blank">Cute critters</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Paperminutes: <a href="https://paperminutes.blogspot.com/2024/01/paperminutes-828-vogel-birds.html" target="_blank">#828 Birds/ Vögel</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">and since the bird stamp and leaf stencil are new, also in NBUS: <a href="https://mynbus.blogspot.com/2024/01/nbus-challenge-58.html" target="_blank">#58 January</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Thank you for visiting! <br /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-84621301028734412102023-12-30T15:31:00.010+02:002023-12-30T15:35:24.519+02:00Here's to you!<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> A new year and #newbeginnings. To celebrate the event, I gathered festive pinks and reds and ventured into new territory myself. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The background has a wax imprint, made with some wax paper and an embossing folder. The imprint needed to be ironed so the wax can melt - this makes the pattern transfer into the paper. When I colored the background with distress oxides - Picked raspberry and Festive berries - wax resisted the color and a pattern was created. </span><span style="font-size: small;">There's an old Youtube video on the technique, I will link it when I find it again.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: small;"> </span><span style="font-size: medium;"></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieKyKXN8fvxuJZ5xyME2M3bElYWGxIu-AzIaq8zMj_jeZDTc9cUxW0tkZuI37ek_SRffRCHRvJRlOUvwrqV8smcjKjyGc3wxbCpYPCn-mEruivNayFg7UvR305iPY_L_Och1CbEu73Dgn48a3HIJ_ON6WIxYfHBPlTbZLb5XkYJ7Tu9SruHUu5aldzwLYV/s1280/IMG_9851.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="557" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieKyKXN8fvxuJZ5xyME2M3bElYWGxIu-AzIaq8zMj_jeZDTc9cUxW0tkZuI37ek_SRffRCHRvJRlOUvwrqV8smcjKjyGc3wxbCpYPCn-mEruivNayFg7UvR305iPY_L_Och1CbEu73Dgn48a3HIJ_ON6WIxYfHBPlTbZLb5XkYJ7Tu9SruHUu5aldzwLYV/w418-h557/IMG_9851.jpeg" width="418" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">That of course created a lovely texture on the paper - the wax imprint is never 1-on-1 with the embossing folder, as the wax paper will crease and those creases will imprint themselves onto the card base.<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">A huge bouguet of die cuts, mostly gelliprints, and a wax seal round up the design. <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZfrL5rDZRijawfucC-7z-8Uvn525FsQv4KAycrjgOMddP2fv6OpwttWC_dRApZfddR6IZWaMlxh_q8thiB-9RCwz9Q8dgeuaZh0kD4o4g-uMhw9TR4mKTRp8I5p8-SJV4Ks-WuetqrXhXS8oBXGWf4gaA70fxyuYI2SlEgiPSQ4TCqyFOv2_pr3uQQr7u/s1280/IMG_9850.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="591" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZfrL5rDZRijawfucC-7z-8Uvn525FsQv4KAycrjgOMddP2fv6OpwttWC_dRApZfddR6IZWaMlxh_q8thiB-9RCwz9Q8dgeuaZh0kD4o4g-uMhw9TR4mKTRp8I5p8-SJV4Ks-WuetqrXhXS8oBXGWf4gaA70fxyuYI2SlEgiPSQ4TCqyFOv2_pr3uQQr7u/w443-h591/IMG_9850.jpeg" width="443" /></a></span><span style="font-size: medium;"> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Entering it into these challenges that inspired me:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Creative Crafting Uncles Challenge: <a href="https://creativecraftinguncles.blogspot.com/2023/12/48-christmas-and-or-happy-new-year.html" target="_blank">#48 Christmas / New Year</a><br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Tuesday Morning Sketches: <a href="http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.com/2023/12/tuesday-morning-sketches-tms-737-annual.html" target="_blank">#737 Annual AG</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Crafty Chicks: <a href="https://kraftychickschallenge.blogspot.com/2023/12/krafty-chicks-challenge-696-all.html" target="_blank">#696 All occasions</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Alphabet Challenge: <a href="https://alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2023/12/t-is-for-texture.html" target="_blank">T is for texture </a> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Thank you for your visit and see you again in 2024! <br /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-49379717581668041872023-12-25T15:49:00.004+02:002023-12-25T15:49:26.734+02:00Wishing you happiness<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> I am very fond of British nature themed stamps; they are simply beautiful and create a serene look that looks almost like a vintage copperplate.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Today I grabbed two, the birds are by Crafty Individuals and the berries by PaperArtsy. A few challenges were calling my name and I hoped to combine them in one card. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdY4IdByZllGUHt99I8B4_nK3ddlKOqzhU66msldcRFEXTGyah8M6LURBoWvQ5Qv6LoMedPktqibRt3GTeiLkRUAbLTUomwKqBvXo9oxRoyv0FqK-C37RXsAliM9_GWx5K05JGoYdfQibKICOpcCDzYSZv_66GlU_69eu4p7Kt83eESPQjrfzsA27OWk_6/s1280/IMG_9846.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="572" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdY4IdByZllGUHt99I8B4_nK3ddlKOqzhU66msldcRFEXTGyah8M6LURBoWvQ5Qv6LoMedPktqibRt3GTeiLkRUAbLTUomwKqBvXo9oxRoyv0FqK-C37RXsAliM9_GWx5K05JGoYdfQibKICOpcCDzYSZv_66GlU_69eu4p7Kt83eESPQjrfzsA27OWk_6/w429-h572/IMG_9846.jpeg" width="429" /></a></span><span style="font-size: medium;"> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I picked my favorite colors, or rather color combination for this time of year which is baby blue with dark, brownish red. My previous cards have been very labor and material intensive, it was time to try to make one with less.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">A couple of challenge are very inspiring in this, the Snippets challenge and a CAS challenge. There were others, too, that I took cues from. Here is what I started with, some gelli print remnants and a washi tape. I also wanted to use my minimal star die, it only punctures dots onto the base.<br /><br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIyXyqE0dSzpHEpvxf-3fTlOo0zwPPt-KRck57wgPqpUzDDOgnUjHJ0pPg_fHYLZeSv3rr2VcziEctBxrT98TCtcq67tFMmTlxjMhy8MlNNQqUNyQ7s01syisbt3wb98hLDUIbuO0xQAZAcd8ZpotcWKlXQrK20uOLY4eGCxRgRsA9qHvUOjlwsz6PcqDP/s1280/IMG_9799.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="1280" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIyXyqE0dSzpHEpvxf-3fTlOo0zwPPt-KRck57wgPqpUzDDOgnUjHJ0pPg_fHYLZeSv3rr2VcziEctBxrT98TCtcq67tFMmTlxjMhy8MlNNQqUNyQ7s01syisbt3wb98hLDUIbuO0xQAZAcd8ZpotcWKlXQrK20uOLY4eGCxRgRsA9qHvUOjlwsz6PcqDP/w416-h312/IMG_9799.jpeg" width="416" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">And here is what it became:</span></p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJI7TjjTYiEacs1c6tZ0bc_LIvZ4i4YtR1xD4_TGskAt3UaVTC6twR5CgERZ_Bu31u5JgsqpmsR6j-i395Ec0czzY0rbaVCRGIvlTFgfGBkSnZ2OFBUkmCm0jJ75W3r2N8b8Qvu6xEg53MtJ9HqQ6_CfKGnwO-TnUScH2M8D5UFqibspCPwBZzMO4ZpstA/s1280/IMG_9801.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="1280" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJI7TjjTYiEacs1c6tZ0bc_LIvZ4i4YtR1xD4_TGskAt3UaVTC6twR5CgERZ_Bu31u5JgsqpmsR6j-i395Ec0czzY0rbaVCRGIvlTFgfGBkSnZ2OFBUkmCm0jJ75W3r2N8b8Qvu6xEg53MtJ9HqQ6_CfKGnwO-TnUScH2M8D5UFqibspCPwBZzMO4ZpstA/w413-h310/IMG_9801.jpeg" width="413" /></a></span><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Entering it in the challenges that inspired me today:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">A Place to Start: <a href="https://hereisaplacetostart.blogspot.com/2023/12/december-2023-anything-goes-woptional.html" target="_blank">AG/ option New</a> - I played with that option</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Snippets playground: <a href="https://pixiessnippetsplayground.blogspot.com/2023/12/challenge-469.html" target="_blank">#469 December challenge</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Alphabet Challenge:<a href="https://alphabetchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2023/12/s-is-for-stars.html" target="_blank"> S is for Stars</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">AAA Challenge: #<a href="https://aaacards.blogspot.com/2023/12/aaa-card-challenge-255-its-cold-sketch.html" target="_blank">255 sketch - it's cold<br /></a></span></p><p><img border="0" data-original-height="2500" data-original-width="2500" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuQzzsqt2C0DLmMlVDxXgr5wOgmCZe1a-74tQLlt5yhjH6zgQ7DnYdEoufANkd-ud9KMSwDylqEPfrINdoesQCBE3AdaRotmqntIaGVdyqNUUb_zECq26W7Gd0wOlgXnNLH27JRaLtiD48tWb2G5NWwu2JXFDW1aJx-VdRrmyV86YMPZqZO9PudRa7WQ/w200-h200/255.jpg" width="200" /><span style="font-size: medium;"> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://doubletroublechallenge.blogspot.com/2023/12/Challenge-155.html" target="_blank">Double </a>Trouble partnering with <a href="https://useyourstuff.blogspot.com/2023/12/481-double-trouble-collaboration.html" target="_blank">Use Your Stuff #481</a>: Challenge <a href="https://doubletroublechallenge.blogspot.com/2023/12/Challenge-155.html" target="_blank">#155 </a>- I am entering all three categories: die cut -check, washi tape -check, Double Dare -check.<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><br /><br /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-58435774678232687572023-12-16T06:00:00.000+02:002023-12-16T06:00:03.050+02:00Gnome greetings<p><span style="font-size: medium;">When you have a good idea you better make the most of it. Yesterday I made a magical Christmas card, today I needed a male greeting card - so I thought: what if I used the same idea, but changed up things a bit?</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPfSplKm2X4ZMu8cluoJwevp1djUj2bVNUvJDDL7H9qwXY4UM-ffFjdVTgwX1Dm8CDfPOZyL2QsocUuYKhIjJd8IoGkM6t6D1H23FtWbhYAlqyI467ny_fwjGEPRAimymawbF6D9fjvcOqic-lJfuVj9rq1TCvYjXB-i8TlmwimHbTWMEEqwrRpos_QA7c/s1280/IMG_9789.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="879" height="624" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPfSplKm2X4ZMu8cluoJwevp1djUj2bVNUvJDDL7H9qwXY4UM-ffFjdVTgwX1Dm8CDfPOZyL2QsocUuYKhIjJd8IoGkM6t6D1H23FtWbhYAlqyI467ny_fwjGEPRAimymawbF6D9fjvcOqic-lJfuVj9rq1TCvYjXB-i8TlmwimHbTWMEEqwrRpos_QA7c/w429-h624/IMG_9789.jpeg" width="429" /></a> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Here's what I changed. Instead of the ballerina cat I stamped a friendly figure which I then dressed up to be a Christmas gnome. Instead of using a stencil for falling snow I used an embossing folder with fir boughs. Instead of stamping the sentiment I hand wrote it.<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">What stayed the same: The general layout and the use of greenery.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4EdkYp_Ob6LnpmGMR_rQZLhwtGsH1niUQJCy2wNGDdlILlmxX11B4fUtpzqXxQz7OKCc_4VuNNHeO6GAg9C53y896x_E9bJGc49DOIcjPkG1D2_9DyPZ2Bu7b5zWjJiFkFgFvfngv7DGdGDDUtygEeYMPmLf3CVlQrAOy74Zc9fPbju_oTiRSRd4Ch6GX/s1280/IMG_9785.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="993" data-original-width="1280" height="343" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4EdkYp_Ob6LnpmGMR_rQZLhwtGsH1niUQJCy2wNGDdlILlmxX11B4fUtpzqXxQz7OKCc_4VuNNHeO6GAg9C53y896x_E9bJGc49DOIcjPkG1D2_9DyPZ2Bu7b5zWjJiFkFgFvfngv7DGdGDDUtygEeYMPmLf3CVlQrAOy74Zc9fPbju_oTiRSRd4Ch6GX/w442-h343/IMG_9785.jpeg" width="442" /></a> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I used my markers to color everything, and the metallic dots are both silver and gold. I attempted a Sugarplum Fairy dancing amidst the snow. I love my whimsical cat stamp, I find it so useful for many occasions. While the "snow" was drying I stamped and colored the image, die cut the silver dots and fir boughs.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Then it was just a matter of assembling the card. I attached the ballerina on foam dots and slid a length of silver thread beneath. I have a set of mixed metals, gold, silver, brass and bronze. Back when I purchased it, seven years ago, I thought I would just pick my metals, but it is not that easy. These metal flakes are small and have static,, they cling everywhere they are not supposed to. are after they have been severely frostbitten. We have had three weeks
of below zero temperatures and the rose hips are just perfect now: pick one
up and squeeze the sweet pulp right into your mouth and enjoy. You can
of course pick a whole bunch and make a marmalade to go with your roast
(plant or meat-based).<br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">That is what came to my mind when I
read the newest challenge parameters of Festive Friday. I also picked
the colors red, brown and white - which also coincided nicely with a
color challenge that asked for two more colors, which I then
added along with the neutrals kraft and gold.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The image was stamped, the inks were first smooched, then the berries were painted. I added golden twig die cuts.<br /></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrGaO0tZTRVBg_43wBc0CYvkY_HCRTpCJtMhRXcG0fVcxBBzq1wM_qZPjsUGUMCzwF8A-Juz5oQW4HAN8YJvOrBukhAWUAGjasQMHnlXQ-z5ERwectfn3fhTXz-n8FjfcrAr6882NsLK8C-m5qAg_kXIstO_eopXHNqgS78BVGC7SxJlt_JVp-309nrggg/s1280/IMG_9762.jpeg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="570" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrGaO0tZTRVBg_43wBc0CYvkY_HCRTpCJtMhRXcG0fVcxBBzq1wM_qZPjsUGUMCzwF8A-Juz5oQW4HAN8YJvOrBukhAWUAGjasQMHnlXQ-z5ERwectfn3fhTXz-n8FjfcrAr6882NsLK8C-m5qAg_kXIstO_eopXHNqgS78BVGC7SxJlt_JVp-309nrggg/w427-h570/IMG_9762.jpeg" width="427" /></a></span></div><p><span style="font-size: medium;">I
was also inspired to take candy cane as inspiration for the backdrop.
It is red-and-white twine and little about is to be seen behind the large oval -
which I chose as my composition per a sketch challenge.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Entering this into these inspiring challenges:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Festive Friday: <a href="https://festivefridaychallenge.com/festive-friday-card-making-and-paper-crafting-challenge-ff-4/" target="_blank">#FFO149</a> - I picked all three colors and Candy cane</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">My Favorite Things: <a href="https://www.mftstamps.com/blogs/news/cc225" target="_blank">CC 225 </a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><img alt="" height="46" src="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0034/2668/0896/files/MFT_ColorChallenge_PaintBook_225.jpg?v=1701956624" width="220" /> </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Just Add Ink: <a href="https://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2023/12/just-add-ink-682sketch.html" target="_blank">#682 sketch</a> <img border="0" data-original-height="1232" data-original-width="1232" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWiIGxH0sWN5S3QdfYwtfjOXtF_CQiOymg0gnfjg7Y-KiBLW1u_s0GzZnKHhK4X6yA52ynVP9DO68Xl0azmuJLAyp3iv8O0dLXQnHjlWppAQ4OqFAAg9b1YBrymT5a7B7CJ6e-T_V9q3NR-_tWc7_s317mDjK5LhfGJPbfrrI8QGgCxMwxlNHTNhjRF7Y/w133-h133/%23682.jpg" width="133" /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Thank you for your visit! <br /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6247360221696021591.post-33959427200812524032023-12-12T11:29:00.003+02:002023-12-12T11:29:25.481+02:00Flowers for birthday<p><span style="font-size: medium;"> A couple of lovely challenges were calling my name - one for layout,
another for colors and two for flowers. I do love flowers and have
wquite a few floral stamps.</span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaCh9oza9Ujl6miJFgviDrOJXfyV2W_UmeIHMmYc8Gg8JR3yWpWvgIzcD09qwtZoiiY3MyUXk1v28aOdFCOgEx6hB4fo8iNuh6sbKzOf4FzaLrmFQ7hzGf1qPoIB93YbOp3Kq_8TpLgeFr1-n7586H4wm6P5tLnrpHoKVpoHk_euN9w6QvRfsF_oOOtcdF/s1280/IMG_9759.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="960" height="556" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaCh9oza9Ujl6miJFgviDrOJXfyV2W_UmeIHMmYc8Gg8JR3yWpWvgIzcD09qwtZoiiY3MyUXk1v28aOdFCOgEx6hB4fo8iNuh6sbKzOf4FzaLrmFQ7hzGf1qPoIB93YbOp3Kq_8TpLgeFr1-n7586H4wm6P5tLnrpHoKVpoHk_euN9w6QvRfsF_oOOtcdF/w417-h556/IMG_9759.jpeg" width="417" /></a></span></div><p></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">For this card I selected an oldie by
Stampendous. It is a skinny rectangle, so it needed cutting to size. I
stamped the flowers with pale grey ink, then colored them in with Oxides
and smeared some Nuvo drops on top for some sheen.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"> I fussy cut it
completely, even the center, then added blue cardstock tying it in I had
with the blue flower in the background. Lastly I adhered iridescent
sparklies most everywhere.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj56Fr63GW3zWh_z7vcyP9XekEhEaBrQew_RhPIb7kLJkeViHnoQ37MjwRwzLbRz2SeVLPZwK_GTgpU97O4Q74o1uw-K-OxwdokFivmXIXjvQjFAus99a4odJZANnkDY8OC5lM_-Qyu3Kikat0L-gI2_8x9pZ_rAY7dRm9dMPFwpgLWoqdvAYOznDEEyybw/s1280/IMG_9758.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="915" height="584" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj56Fr63GW3zWh_z7vcyP9XekEhEaBrQew_RhPIb7kLJkeViHnoQ37MjwRwzLbRz2SeVLPZwK_GTgpU97O4Q74o1uw-K-OxwdokFivmXIXjvQjFAus99a4odJZANnkDY8OC5lM_-Qyu3Kikat0L-gI2_8x9pZ_rAY7dRm9dMPFwpgLWoqdvAYOznDEEyybw/w418-h584/IMG_9758.jpeg" width="418" /></a> <br /></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">The sentiment was stamped onto a die cut circle and a frilly circle of vellum was adhered behind to soften it up.</span></p><p><br /></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Entering in these challenges that inspired me today:</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Die-Cut Divas: <a href="https://die-cut-divas.blogspot.com/2023/12/have-wonderful-time-of-year-with-altenew.html" target="_blank">Flowers</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Beautiful Blossoms Challenge: <a href="https://beautifulblossomschallenge.blogspot.com/2023/11/beautiful-blossoms-challenge-anything.html" target="_blank">AG/ or moodboard optional</a>. - I decided to go with softer colors.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Color My Heart Colordare Challenge: <a href="https://colormyheartcolordare.blogspot.com/2023/12/Challenge-577.html" target="_blank">#577</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;"><img border="0" data-original-height="360" data-original-width="360" height="119" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6tQsKNA38uBEvwHEXUh4ujM_B2Qy8j0RkJ0RqbmLljH_J0uPKBflUI8WQ3LVIh2SpfYwiDQD1IQoTJA4Fk-QsPcSvwwmL_tS4vLDBN6x5n_sJpDtMIuSBpWen-P-eNvQy-BcAkF5VOJoAakvkcVnxq3I0JLsA6We1v8aR9Pk4HFiaSDRw9nkX-RNHaBMp/w119-h119/577%20Dec%201%20Shades%20of%20Blue%20Purple%20Pink%20copy.jpg" width="119" /> </span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium;">Hand Stamped Sentiments: <a href="http://handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com/2023/11/hand-stamped-sentiments-sketch.html" target="_blank">#428 sketch</a> <img border="0" data-original-height="320" data-original-width="247" height="123" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_0ePRMTwd-mOCBIS48oyXPZf1WUky1bzxY7_qCq-4M0tNiF1aWxfIhC2wtQE3OZjRe2_wkFTN7oXII4AjelXHdzmeJ9Mp918SAcnyO1UYx09pnzfsmpGUiFiCfe7Bs-d3G_ouf8D1yTcy5TNTE2qIbJ2OUpBEl6wcSCa9wxd7p5spmYTbbU2xVM3iTxwj/w95-h123/HSS%20Sketch%20428-001.jpg" width="95" /></span></p>alice k.http://www.blogger.com/profile/11798373567942197058noreply@blogger.com8
