I arrived from my trip and brought some new supplies with me. There has been mail in my absence, some swap ATC's and materials for a bird journal that some of us are making this summer.
This new stuff is now in the center of the table; along the edges runs my usual mess of pens, water container, glue and ... stuff. I tried to make something, anything, last night, but I was totally overwhelmed by all the possibilities. On my trip I had to work with so little, and last week I could not work at all, so now this wealth of possibilities feels just too much. I hope I'll be in the loop soon...
I visited the beautiful city of... can you guess? It has beautiful tiled floors at the uni which is one of the oldest in Europe (no, it's not Bologna). Horse-drawn carriages drive around the city (but it's not New York), it has wonderful pastry (but it's not Copenhagen), and a river flowing through (but it's not Paris)...
There are also plenty of interesting (latter-day) murals. This was taken on my way to the airport.
I find they provide good color inspiration. These red letters actually have pink dots in them, and the background is just the right shade of blue to make this look fresh.
Showing my desk at WOYWW? #314. Do hop over and show your's too!

Love the tiles, but have no idea where they are... hope you get to enjoy the desk full of supplies soon. Helen 3
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen. It was good to be away, but it is good to be home.
DeleteFabulous desk this week, full of goodies (which is why we love to snoop). Love the murals, the bright colors. Diane #27
ReplyDeleteI feel the pesky tags in stations and subway cars have really all the potential to be viewed as murals. And if you look at their colors they are (not surprisingly) offbeat, but harmonious in a way we haven't seen yet.
DeleteNo idea where you were, crikey, however small the internet makes the world, I don't think the floor tiles are enough of a clue for me!! I think your desk is probably too full of all the possibilities, take some of the stuff out of your line of vision and you'll probably find it easier...its that 'toomuch choice' dilemma. Very frustrating when you've been out and about gathering ideas!
ReplyDeleteJulia, I edited the post and added tons of new clues!
DeleteBut you are right about taking stuff away, it will help. I found it hard to adjust to having minimal supplies on the trip and now I find it even harder to adjust to having plenty.
beautiful floor
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW :)
have a great week

A great week to you too. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteItaly ?
ReplyDeleteNo idea. I haven't even been out of the UK ROFL
I lead such a boring life lol
Beautiful though wherever they are :) #27
Not Italy, sorry. But a huge thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWell, I was in Florence one and a half weeks ago, and your clues would fit it... Like many other european cities I guess :)
ReplyDeleteHappy woyww!
Kristiina #19
Yes you are right, probably half of Central Europe would fit into those clues. Oh dear, I need to add more clues then... Thanks for visiting - wishing you a good week!
DeleteHmm, I was thinking Prague. Not sure why. I've never been there. (If not, maybe somewhere in Germany?)
ReplyDeleteYou've possibly actually got too much stuff on your desk to concentrate your thoughts? Maybe just put some in a box, only temporarily, and see what you are left with?
Thanks for dropping by too.
That's a great idea with a box. I really should try it.
DeleteMy first thought was Prague too although its somewhere I've never been, tiles are beautiful though

The tiles are fabulous! Imagine walking there every day! Wouldn't that be heaven.
DeleteI've no idea where you went but wonderful artistic finds! Enjoy your week. Take care Zo xx 39
ReplyDeleteNo idea where you visited, but that tiled floor is amazing. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #4 xxx
ReplyDeletePeople pay less attention to floors than to walls, but floors are often quite as amazing if not more so.
DeleteIt looks very interesting but no idea where it is, please tell or I wont be able to sleep tonight Lol!
ReplyDeleteHave a great woyww and happy crafting,
Angela xXx 24
Okay, I will. See my comment way down. Sleep well :-)
DeleteYou are probably still tired from travelling to do much and too much going round in your head. Looks like it was a fab trio. Thanks for the visit this morning .

ATC's may have gone out of flavor, a lot of people seem to be doing greeting cards these days. It feels nice to be back, doesn't it? I was absent for 5 years and only recently came back.
DeleteHi everyone! I thought I gave too many hints, but I was proved wrong. And the two ladies who would know where I've been haven't visited today.
ReplyDeleteIt was Vienna, Austria!
Love the tiles, looks like a lovely trip. Happy WOYWW #44
