Merry Christmas to 'ewe'

Today's inspiration came from many sources: a sketch, prompts for Christmas in July and animals. And my new sheep (ewe) stamp.

I gathered the supplies, having the vague idea of using the stars and the designer paper in my card. I later ditched that idea and settled for the baubles instead. I fell in love with this ewe stamp, it lends itself to marker coloring really well.

I am entering this card in the following challenges that were my inspiration:

CAS Colours and Sketches: #589 Sketch

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Four-legged friends

Passion for Markers: #845 Animals

No limit on happy

Today my interest was widely spread as I found five awesome challenges that I thought I could combine well.

These were the ingredients I thought I'd need. In the end I used less of the papers, no leaf cut-outs, but more markers. The guy was a stamp I had given away, but stamped a few for myself before.

I started by creating a sticky removable mask for the guy, as I had stamped it on a card base. This was the first time I used Aleene's Tack It, and I can highly recommend it. The removal of the mask was easy, it did not leave any residue nor did it tear the surface. I did a three color blend with the Oxides Rustic Wilderness - Uncharted Mariner - Blueprint Sketch. That left the guy white, but I used my markers to color him in. Lastly I flicked some water droplets onto the upper part to make the illusion of night settling in more believable.

I found a great sticker from TH Snarky chit chat pack. This is a birthday card and the main sentiment will be inside.

Entering this in these challenges that inspired my make today:

Poppy greetings

There were still leftovers from yesterday's session. The stenciled paper grabbed my fancy, and that slatted round  piece as well.

I was inspired by the colors of two challenges and wanted to add some flowers using those colors.

I then stamped the sentiment. It's a greeting, suitable for a 'just because' card.

Gnome greetings

When you have a good idea you better make the most of it. Yesterday I made a magical Christmas card, today I needed a male greeting card - so I thought: what if I used the same idea, but changed up things a bit?

Here's what I changed. Instead of the ballerina cat I stamped a friendly figure which I then dressed up to be a Christmas gnome. Instead of using a stencil for falling snow I used an embossing folder with fir boughs. Instead of stamping the sentiment I hand wrote it.

What stayed the same: The general layout and the use of greenery.

I used my markers to color everything, and the metallic dots are both silver and gold. I love to use mixed metals in my work whenever possible.

Entering in these challenges that served as my inspiration and guideline:
